Last things to notice :
Every part in the Engine is quite new, and ready to drive again ! I’ve reached 4500m easily.
About the engine oil thermometer: the correct temperature is around 80°C. When the temperature reaches 100°C it’s time to stop. In any case, it’s important to take a 20-minutes break after 3 hours of driving to let the engine cool down. The cruising speed of the Combi is 80km/h (at the speedometer).
After driving a long time on gravel road the steering wheel unscrews slightly. This may stop the horn from working. When the steering wheel moves between his hands it’s time to tighten it ! It’s very easy, just remove the horn cover to access the nut. The hydraulic jack is a little bit too small for the Kombi. It’s why we have let you a little brick to put under (in one of the mechanic bag stuff). And remember traveling with a Kombi is an incredible experience ! We enjoyed this lifestyle so much and met so many people (locals and foreigners) thanks to it. Basically we knew nothing in mechanic before starting this trip but the Kombi’s engine is great to learn with easy work.
